Just like life, Coombe is what you make of it. It is an exciting, vibrant place, full of clubs, events and endless opportunities to try new things, develop new skills and make new friends. Whatever you're passionate about, you'll find something going on at Coombe.
Each week there is some event or activity for our Sixth Formers to take part in.
Our Enrichment Programme allows them to sign up to term-long activities their excited to discover or develop. From a wealth of sporting activities and teams to running a club, being part of the Leadership Programme, the opportunities are there to make you feel part of our school community and feed all aspects of your personality.
You'll get plenty of chances to explore the world, with a range of residential trips organised around different subject areas and including destinations like New York, Washington, Paris, Iceland and Greece.
At Coombe we are fascinated by the world, and we explore ideas and issues from the Sixth Form gates to the furthest ends of the earth.
Our annual Rag Week is a festival of fun and chaos that raises lots of money and awareness for a special charity.
It's one of the highlights of the year with events including everything from dodgeball, lip sync battles, fashion shows, dressing up days and 'staff vs pupils' football matches - definitely not to be missed!
An Extended Project Qualification (EPQ) is a qualification taken by some students at Coombe, where it is equivalent to half an A Level.
The students' choice of topic is free, although they must show that it is academically useful, either related to their current course of study, or their future career. It takes the form of either a dissertation or a number of other forms: a musical or dramatical composition, report or artefact, backed up with paperwork.
We believe in bringing culture to life, and giving you a deeper understanding of the world through participation in a wide range of clubs and societies, open to all students regardless of subject choices. Take instrument or vocal lessons through the Music Department and join the orchestra or chamber choir. Develop your art skills and display your work around the school. Take your acting skills to the stage with our thriving Drama Department's regular productions. And explore many opportunities to get out into the world and see the best it has to offer, including trips to West End theatre productions, design museums, galleries, recitals, exhibitions and much more.
At Coombe you'll encounter many opportunities to develop your leadership skills. Head Girl and Head Boy are highly prized roles and their elections follow a vigorous and exciting campaign. Other roles such as Head of House and Subject Captain offer greater responsibility, as does our mentoring programme through which you guide and tutor younger pupils.
